The Shin Bu Kan was founded by Vic Cook Sensei in 1979. Since then the dojo group has come to include dojo in Southampton, Portsmouth, Barnstable, Torquay, Rochester, the Republic of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary.
In 2004 the group, celebrating its 25th anniversary, met for training in the High Tatva Mountains in the Slovakian Republic.
